On Saturday I watched Twilight for the first time. Ever. I know I know I'm really late but I never read the books and didn't really feel eager to watch the films either, but it was on t.v. so I thought I would give it a try. It was good but It wasn't the most amazing film I've ever seen, but now I get why so many girls love the film, (hello the love affair that is Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart). However, sadly for some, Twilight has failed to convert me into a "Twi-hard" and the only way I'll end up watching 'New Moon' is if I can be bothered to watch it on t.v. next year.
This week the Twilight cast have been promoting 'New Moon' and Kristen's been wearing a few really cute dresses. My favourites are the J. Mendel dress and the Elizabeth and James dress.
I love this DKNY dress (above) on Kristen. The print really suits her and the champagne colour of the dress looks great. DKNY are great for these types of dresses, they don't disappoint. The pinkish coloured Hervé Léger dress by Max Azria (right) also looks fantastic on Kristen. I particularly like the up-do they put her hair in because every time I see a picture of her, her hair is down and all over place. I also think this is the right kind of Hervé Léger dress for Kristen. Could you imagine her in one of those body con dresses as worn by Lindsay Lohan, Blake Lively and Hilary Duff?
I really don't like Kristen in this Oscar De La Renta gown. My dislike isn't because of the dress, I love that dress and everything Oscar De La Renta creates. I even posted this dress during fashion week. The reason why I don't like this dress is because it doesn't suit Kristen. You can tell that her stylist (no way did she pick this up herself) encouraged her to wear this dress and she looks incredibly uncomfortable.
Perhaps the look would of worked more if they had used the shorter version of the dress, but here Kristen just looks awkward and its a shame because the dress is beautiful. Another thing wrong is her hair. I think she cut it to play Joan Jett and its still growing back, but her team could have done something better with it if they were going to put her in Oscar. Although I suspect she wanted her hair this way.
These two outfits are the best by far I love love the Elizabeth and James dress at the top. The Olsen's can do no wrong. At all. It also shows you how successful they and their clothing lines are in the fashion world. Think about it, you don't see many celebrities/stylists/editors wearing or using clothes designed by other celebrities. The dress is gorgeous, the best part is the sheer straps and the leather, it is aptly named the 'stiletto dress' but unfortunately it is not available in stores yet. As if the outfit couldn't get any better, do I spy some Christian Louboutins? The white dress on above is something out of a dream. The draping is beautiful and makes Kristen look like such a lady, although sadly she looks sort of awkward in this dress too, although not as much as in the Oscar dress. The Sergio Rossi shoes are also to die for (but nothing can break my love for Louboutin).

Olsenboye!
Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen have launched yet another clothing line. The clothing line called Olsenboye is a collaboration with US brand JC Penney and is aimed at Tweens and Teens and is priced between $20 to $50 which converts to around £12.50 to £30.50 which is considerably cheap. Although it doesn't hit stores until 6th November, yesterday the Olsen were promoting Olsenboye on Good Morning America and today they are travelling around New York in their "Treat truck" selling cupcakes and talking to fans. Are there and lucky readers from New York who have spotted the Olsen's today.
The theme of the clothing line is of an oversized-sunglasses-wearing globetrotter who gleans wardrobe ideas from young women in fashion capitals. Sounds a lot like their lifestyle but doesn't every teen want to be like the Olsen's. I know I do.
2009 seems to have been a good year for Mary-Kate and Ashley, in July their brand Elizabeth and James was inducted into the Council of Fashion Designers of America, alongside Alexander Wang and Jason Wu. I definitely expect Olsenboye to do well. I wonder if they'll ship to London.
The Olsenboye video/lookbook can be viewed here, the way they format it reminds me of the lookbook for The Row but for a different market.

Guests at the Burberry S/S10 show
I thought I'd take a break from the fashion week coverage and take a look at what was being worn off the runway. I love Emma Watson's dress, its a really good fit and cut for her. I've also got some more Wintour magic for you!
I like Alexa's outfit here at Burberry a lot more than I liked her outfit at Luella. Maybe that's just because Luella's show was during the day and Alexa didn't make as much effort as she has for Burberry's night show, maybe she wanted to impress Anna Wintour after they sat next to each at Twenty8twelve last night. Anyway here she is dressed in head to toe Burberry, as you do. I really like how simple yet great this outfit looks.

From an ex T4 presenter to a current one, here is Jameela Jamil doing her tilted head stare for the photographers (am I the only one who notices that she always does this?). Jamil's outfit is a lot darker and seems more covered up than Alexa's but I like the touch of yellow on her shoes.
Anna Wintour is treating us to more of her fabulous sightings, she always looks so poised and put together when she's in front of the camera, I wander what she's like in her down time... if she has any. The metallic dress looks really great here and complements her tanned complexion.
Just as I started to like Agyness Deyn's hair now that she'd grown it out of that odd baby bob she had earlier in the year, she goes and completely changes her it, but I guess that's how Agyness works her style. I like how she's paired the bright blue dress with her brogues (I really want some) here she actually reminds me of that guy from the Misshapes with her hair covering her face. (I really like Leigh Lezark's lipstick in that picture). Victoria Beckham looks really really tanned here but her dress is still signature VB style. What does everybody think of her collection? personally I like it a lot and there are many things in there I could see myself wearing.

I feel like up until recently I haven't seen much of Mary Kate Olsen, and seen even less of Ashley, but after some searching (yeah I google the Olsens) I found some great pictures that will be up on the blog tomorrow. Also I'm pretty sure Alexa and Mary Kate are wearing the same Burberry suede ankle wedge boots.
This is arguably the best outfit of the night. I love the sequins, different versions of this dress was shown throughout the show, so I'm pretty sure somebody on the Burberry team if not Christopher Bailey suggested this dress. After all she is the face of the Burberry Prorsum a/w ad campaign, its one of the perks. I'm sure Emma happily went along with the decision, I know I would with a dress like that. Great choice to both of them.

Emma was seen joking with Gwyneth during the show. Gwyneth was sitting next to Mario Testino and Emma was next to Liv Tyler. Sounds like a pretty good turn out.

Front row at Luella Spring 2010
Anna Wintour looking amazing in a python skin coat front row at Luella's spring show. Anna was also spotted sitting next to Alexa Chung at the Twenty8Twelve show, hands up who thinks Alexa will be the next American Vogue cover girl. Guess the rumours were true about Anna appearing at the front row at London fashion week, I wonder where else will turn up.
I couldn't do a fashion week front row post without putting Peaches Geldof in, she's everywhere at fashion week. However, I refuse to feature her sister Pixie Geldof on this blog until she sorts her hair out. Here Peaches Geldof wears a Luella dress that I'm sure I saw on Zooey Deschanel at some music awards show, possibly the Grammy's.
Luella S/S10
Ive said it before. Luella Bartley does not fail at impressing me collection after collection. Yesterday was no different I still found the collection beautiful and found something I would personally wear each time a model strode past.
This season, Luella seems to have focused more on shapes whereas in past seasons there were lost of frills and bows. The fabric is very different too, emphasis has really been put on the structure of the piece, note the 50's style dresses with exaggerated hips. There were a lot of pastel colours used as well to brighten up the collection.
I am really pleased with the spring/summer collections so far there hasn't been any nautical references, although Luella showed some polka dots in her collection, but I think that comes up in Autumn as well as Spring. Besides I like polka dots, and I also like bows (see first image)

Richard Nicoll S/S10
I didn't discover the designer Richard Nicoll until his autumn/winter 2008 collection, but his Spring/Summer collection shown yesterday feature some very pretty dresses. Although it doesn't excite me as much as his autumn winter collection did, I still see some good pieces in his collection.
The collection began on a slightly dark note with browns and light greys, with a sort of floral motifs that remind me of wallpaper, but in a good way. Dresses then became tribal with tassells and brown embellishments.
The collection then lightened to teal and rose colours with pink tassells replacing the browns.
