Diane Von Furstenberg S/S10

New York fashion week is in full swing and I adored Diane Von Furstenberg's collection shown yesterday. The collections was filled with beautiful colours from earthy dark dresses to bold neon cuffs and lots of gold and embellishments. Prints included leopard prints which were shown in a more dark glossy tone and paired with equally dark but lovely colours. Lengths were also experimented with, there was a variation of maxi and mini dresses perfect for the beach or city breaks. The bags were amazing with different coloured embellishments and studs, I crave every single bag that went down the runway. Another favourite was a Grecian style draped dress that was shown in white and gold embellishments. The shoes were not the main focus, and were mostly gold strappy wedges but it held the outfits together and didn't take too much away from individual pieces, the same with the neon cuffs they added to the collection and were not styled with embellished dresses. Altogether a beautiful collection.
I have done my best to narrow down my favoutites but you should defintely check out the collection for yourself here.

The September trousers

The arrival of the September fall/winter magazines always gets me excited for the new season. Despite it not even been mid August and the sun is only now starting to come out in London, I'm ready for winter clothing. I think I like fall fashion better than summer because there is more variation whereas in the summer its just gladiator sandals and nautical style.

Anyway, the trousers I'll be purchasing by the end of the week in preparation for the winter are these Chinos by Gap.

They look really soft and the white pair have this luxe feeling about them, that I'm tempted to get that instead of the safe colours I was considering like camel or navy blue. Apparently the chinos are already selling out fast which doesn't surprise me because they look great. I particularly like how they were styled by Glamour magazine (scroll up) and how Teen Vogue styled them really simply on Taylor Momsen (their September issue cover girl) and went heavy on the accessories. I decided to take a different approach with no accessories and let the sparkly tops shine.

Beyonce steps it up

Today has been a really hot day and marked the beginning of this weeks heat wave. I don't mind the sun but there has to be breeze to make the temperature bearable. I also made the mistake of wearing tights today, so by 3:00pm my feet in particular felt like they were on fire!

On another note, recently I've noticed that Beyonce's style has gotten a lot better, with her outfit choices being a lot easier on the eyes then her other more questionable choices. Maybe she fired her mother as her stylist. Afterall Thierry Mugler has been designing Beyonce's stage outfits for her 'I am... Sasha Fierce' tour, maybe he gave her a few tips...

I really like this dress on her, its by Balmain of course (look at the shoulders) the print of the dress and all those embellishment is crazy but in a good way, the pattern looks irregular so it keeps the eye looking all over the dress, which is a good dtyle for girls who aren't stick thin. This dress does remind me of some of the outfits Beyonce used to go for more, but this ones more tasteful. No? Beyonce wore this to the 2009 BET Awards to pay tribute to Michael Jackson (RIP) she won best female R&B artist and thanked MJ during her speech.

I love the DVF bag in the picture on the left its gorgeous, take a better look at it here. Beyonce also seems to be trying out jeggings (jeans and leggings). I'm not sure how I feel about them or how flattering they'll be, but they look good on her so it may be worth a try. Topshop have some here for a reasonable £20.00 and here in a more flattering pair of indigo treggings (trousers and leggings I assume). As for the dress on the right Oasis do very similar dresses, that I myself own, but you could also try Topshop or forever 21, or something along that line.
